About Paul

I am the Claims Manger for the Property team. I started my career with Hiscox in 2008 as Claims Underwriter, being promoted to Senior Claims underwriter in 2015. In October 2021 I was promoted to my current position. I started my career in the London market in 1999, where I was a claims technician for one of the big three broking houses. In that role I handled both Casualty and Property claims. In 2002 I moved to a medium size broking house where I was a claims broker for 6 years. During my time as a claims broker I was exposed to many difference classes of business including but not limited to Household and commercial Property, Motor Truck Cargo, medical mal practice and Re-insurance. When I moved to Hiscox focus was fixed on Frist Party claims, a class of business I really do enjoy. My current role is to oversea the Property team’s workloads and assist individual members of the team with any questions they have or with any claims that breach their handling authority. I also lead the LMCC team which again involves monitoring their workloads and offering assistance in order to develop their ability to handle more complex claims. I do still handle claims on a daily  basis but these mainly are losses that result from the US MGA Property book or are reported in directly to me from counsel. A big part of the role is to handle and review MI for the team and report this in to management and underwriters. I am the Hiscox representative at the DACG and Canadian DACG

In my free time I like to keep active with Golf, football and Running being the main sports that I get out and do on a regular basis.
