About Robert
I am currently the Head of Art and Private Clients at Hiscox. I started at Hiscox in 1992 having previously been a fine art insurance broker for a couple of years and before that a management consultant. I have also written the following classes during my time at Hiscox: financial intuitions, specie, surety bond reinsurance and warranty and indemnity risks – but it is fair to say that art and private clients is my first and true love. My day to day job revolves around underwriting as well as managing my team and playing an active role as a member of the UK leadership team. I am also involved with the Hiscox art collection where I act as the buyer as well as working closely with our curator Whitney. Through Hiscox I am also involved with Sculpture in the City which organizes a fantastic exhibition of sculptures in the square mile which changes on an annual basis. I am also involved with a great charity that Hiscox have supported since the beginning called Art UK – which has been digitising the nation’s art.
Outside of work I am a failed artist, an amazing cook, as well as having a working farm in the beautiful Shropshire hills which along with four children takes up an extraordinary amount of my time outside work.
