I lead the Marine, Energy, and Specialty Division at Hiscox London Market, where we underwrite a range of specialty business including Marine Cargo, Marine Hull and War, Upstream, Midstream, and Downstream Energy, Power, Renewable Energy, Marine and Energy Liability, P&I, Power, Renewable Energy, Space, and Alternative Risk.
I joined Hiscox in 2022 and have worked in the insurance industry for over thirty years. I started work at Lloyd’s in 1989 before joining ACE in 1990 where I concentrated on Marine underwriting, becoming Head of Marine Cargo and Specie Underwriting for ACE Global Markets, UK Marine Manager for ACE-INA, and Head of Transportation Risk Management. I joined AXIS in 2004 to establish the Marine Cargo, Fine Art, and Specie business, becoming Marine Manager before holding a variety of executive and governance roles, including Chief Underwriting Officer and Chief Executive Officer for AXIS Specialty Europe, and latterly as the first CUO of the AXIS International Division, as well as serving on the Board of AXIS Specialty Europe SE and the AXIS Managing Agency at Lloyd’s. From 2018 to 2020 I worked with the investors of VIBE Syndicate Management to undertake a strategic review of the business, serving as Group CEO.
