About Vicky
I am the Claims Manager for Hiscox Guernsey which means I am in charge of claims across all classes of business written by HIG. I have been at Hiscox for 22 years, and started as a Fine Art Underwriter, then expanding into K&R whilst also handling claims on the Fine Art book. I previously worked for Polygon and provided accounts support for Steve Camm when Hiscox Guernsey was created in 1998, up until the time I was then employed by them in 2000. I have worked in the insurance industry in Guernsey for 29 years, and have been handling claims for 22. We are a team of three – two claims handlers and an admin assistant. No two days are the same – my role includes file reviews, liaising with our third party security consultants and loss adjusters, negotiating with brokers, authorising settlements, advising Reinsurers of collections and reserves, at all times making sure decisions we make are compliant with local regulatory requirements.
I like to be active as much as possible – we have two cockapoos that help with that, but I also enjoy Strong Nation HIIT classes and tap dancing! Arts and crafts are also a hobby of mine.
