About Phil
I joined Hiscox as Chief Technology Officer of London Market in June 2025. My role is to define and execute the London Market technology vision and strategy, ensuring it aligns with business goals and operates in an efficient and sustainable manner.
I manage all of the global technology teams for London Market, identifying and evaluating emerging trends and innovations, evolving roadmaps alongside our product teams, and ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality pragmatic solutions. I ensure all systems are resilient, secure and scalable, with an outstanding customer experience to support our growth and competitive advantage.
I have a strong track record of technology transformations and delivery across the Financial Services industry having held several senior technology roles. These include in derivatives trading at Barclays Capital, and most recently 11 years at London Stock Exchange Group. My time there saw a 10-fold increase in market capitalisation during which I held leadership positions across many significant growth initiatives such as the $2B Microsoft Partnership and the acquisitions of Refinitiv ($27B) and Russell Investments ($2.7B).
This experience brings many synergies and perspectives that complement the insurance industry, in particular my focus on data and analytics solutions, working closely with regulators and managing critical financial infrastructure platforms.
