About Joanna
I am a Senior Claims Underwriter for Crisis Management (London Market Claims). I joined Hiscox in May 2020 on a maternity cover contract underwriting claims for the Specialty business (now Crisis Management). I joined the team permanently in February 2021. The London Market Crisis Management claims team is a specialist team handling complex claims from all crisis management lines. We handle claims for Alternative Risks, Contingency, Personal Accident, Product Recall, Special Risks (Kidnap & Ransom and SIR) and Terrorism. Due to my background, my primary focus is on Special Risks claims. I have worked in insurance since 2010 when I moved across from a K&R response consultancy to a leading global broker, where I continued to specialise in Kidnap & Ransom. Whilst leading the London based broking team I worked with clients from around the globe handling the full life cycle of placements, including claims.
Out of work I like reading, films, music and skiing (when I have the chance). I have three children so I am usually found juggling sporting activities with them. I speak Spanish and love to travel. I enjoy spending time by the sea, especially in Cornwall, but also making the most of living in London.
